There are essentially two types of Social Security Disability benefits available.
Each of these programs will ultimately trigger eligibility for Medicare or Medicaid.

It is true that many people are denied their benefits on initial application, but that is not always the case. We routinely win cases for clients on initial application. If, however, you are denied, we are always prepared to take your claim through the Reconsideration process as well as requesting a hearing with an Administrative Law Judge, if necessary. If you have already filed for benefits on your own, we will also be happy to take up your case at the Reconsideration or Appeal level.

A five-minute conversation prior to a hearing is an unacceptable level of preparation. It is vital that you understand the issues in your case. During the last few years, the world has changed due to the extraordinary circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the changes that we have experienced in the Social Security world is that currently and for the foreseeable future, the hearings offices are closed, and we are not conducting in-person hearings. Most hearings are being conducted either by telephone or through hosting technology. We will work with you to make sure you are comfortable with whatever way we decide to proceed with the hearing. We take pride in having our office in a restored one hundred-year-old house in the suburb of Homewood that has plenty of parking, is easy to find and a ground floor entry. You won’t have to fight traffic, deal with a parking deck, or walk city blocks to get to our office.
